Ever since I was a small child, lake adventures have been a huge part of my life. If I wasn’t at school, you’d most likely find me somewhere on a lake with my family. Almost every week of the summer was spent on the lake with our Bayliner. If the weather was nice, we’d be on the water, soaking up that wonderful Vitamin D. My dad would hitch the boat onto the truck, and we’d drive north to Lake James to fish, tube, and swim. Eventually, we reserved a spot on the lake for our boat because we spent so much time there; it was easier than hauling the boat to and from the lake every week. Those lake days spent tossing fishing poles, tubing wildly across the water, and bobbing around in the sandbars inspired our annual summer vacations.

How Traveling Became My Passion

Welcome to my new travel blog! I decided to create a travel blog because this allows me to do two things that I am most passionate about: traveling and writing. I began writing when I was seven years old. I wrote little stories on wide-ruled notebook paper, complete with silly illustrations, about everything from the art of being a girl to playing baseball. From an early age, I knew I was going to be a writer, but I didn’t so much believe that about my love for travel. I always loved nature; I took every opportunity to be outside, especially when the weather was nice; and I marveled at all the places that my parents took us on vacation. But I didn’t truly appreciate the all-around encompassing nature of travel and adventure until our honeymoon.
